We have two crews going this summer. When we went in '02 we were introduced
to the concept of bartering. The Clear Creek staff offered us 12 oranges
and spoon (the crew leader left his lexan spoon at a sump) for an item or
two. Since we didn't know about backcountry bartering before, we didn't
have anything else for later in the trek. Does anyone bring barter items
(just in case) and what seems to be successful . and lightweight?
