[Philmont]: List etiquette

Please, PLEASE delete extranesous portions of prior messages you are commenting on before sending!

I (and others) subscribe in Digest mode, where messages are grouped into one. Yesterday there were 30 relatively short messages than came in 5 digests (likely would have been only 1 without all the attached "trash") because posts contained longer and longer copies of all the prior posts on the subjects (second message includes the first, third includes both the second and first, fourth includes the third, you get the idea - a snowball rolling down the hillside.).

The problem is not the number of digest messages, but that it is difficult, if not impossible, to find the new comments amid all those copies of the prior messages. Common list etiqutte is to include ONLY the portion of the message you are replying to that is relevant to your comments, And to snip out everything else.

(not to mention the messages in other than plain text that are included twice, one readable and one with all the HTML / rich text coding...probably like this one because I'm doing it from my provider's webmail feature)

Thank you.
