While I have not been an active contributor to the listserve recently, I did
feel that I should comment on the turkey bag concept that I first introduced
on the listserve after my 98 trek. As with any method there will different
viewpoints. My recommendation is to try it and if it doesn't work for your
crew then utilize another method. The listserve has a wealth of knowledge to
help make your trek a success. But not every piece of advice, practice,
method or principle will work for every crew. I found that the items that I
had the most passion for were the items that worked the best for my crews.
And my passion has always been food. Have a great trek!
PS. I have always said that when I retire from the University, my ideal
retirement job would be to manage the food operations at Philmont. Feeding
only a couple of thousands would be a nice slower pace. Bon Appetit!
