RE: [Philmont]: Turkey Bags

Depending on the meal, one method may be better than another. We've used
Turkey Bags when appropriate, but on our 2004 Trek I think we used them only
once. Most of the meals just required boiling water and rehydrating.
Rehydrating was accomplished in the packaging or individuals' bowls. Not
only should crews become familiar with various cooking methods, they should
consider what method works well with the meal at hand. Philmont does not
supply turkey bags; we always keep a few in our cook kit.
