RE: [Philmont]: AMTRAK

I have taken train twice from LA to Philmont and enjoyed both times. Food
quality is good in dining car. Price equal to middle class dining. They also
have snack booth on train, and sell variety of snacks, and drinks, open
until 11:3opm. Sleeping was like sleeping in a recliner (smaller one), noisy
but doable if really tired. They have a observation car that has movies at
night - latest DVDS etc. I enjoyed the Philmont experience and the train

AMTRAK web site and saw the time tables...I would like
to hear from people who have done the trip or who have
traveled by train to Philmont. Maybe the on train
services[food,drinks,sleeping accommodations].
