Just a general observation.................It sounds like the train delays
for past crews are mostly for those coming from or going to the East.
The only delay we had was going home (to San Diego) to the WEST, that was
the only time the train was a couple hours late getting to Raton. I guess
we have been lucky.
You pay extra to come a day early, and even MORE if you use the Philmont
base camp tents.
This was NOT explained to me in 2003. The Welcome office mentioned they had
some empty IN COMING tents and did we want to use them............they
didn't explain that it would make the extra night stay even MORE expensive.
We barely had enough $$$ to cover it.
