I want to suggest a related resource and then ask a semi-related question.

Related resource. I recommend that any advisor get a copy of the Philmont
Advisor's Guide by Cooper Wright and Wally Feurtado. For $10, Coop or Wally
will send you an 80+ page Word document by e-mail that will tell you what to
do before you go, what to do when you arrive at Philmont, what to do on the
trail, and what to do when you come off the trail. And, the $10 supports
Coop's Venturing Crew. I believe they update this guide every year.

Now, my question. Our troop is going to the Sommers Canoe Base of Northern
Tier in 2005. Similar to the Council & Unit Planning Guide, Northern Tier
sent us its Expedition Planning Guide. This Guide include a CD that the Base
encouraged us to copy and give to all crew members. The CD includes the
Guide in .PDF format. (Not to be confused with PFD format ;-) ) It also
includes lots of helpful forms and information, such as a budget planner and
the Northern Tier medical form, which is similar to Philmont's medical form.

Now the question, really. Does anyone know if Philmont is considering
sending its Guide in CD format too?
