Henry reminds us to
> Practice with an epi-pen before you have to use it

We have a used epi-pen (with needle broken off) as well as an epi-pen
trainer which we use during Wilderness First Aid so everyone can both
read the instructions and practice using it. There's a legal
implication (assisting someone with administering vs. administering
for them) but it's also a good idea for anyone getting trained in
wilderness first aid to know how it works so they can help a possibly
inexperienced patient administer their own epi-pen.

At my Wilderness First Responder class, we had to learn how to give
shots because due to the cost many outfitters are now just sending
hypodermics and a vial rather than epi-pens.
