PS - FWIW, I have been told on numerous treks that the Stockade and Pasture
trails were off-limits to Crews. But then again, I don't recall ever seeing
it written down anywhere, so I don't know for sure whether it's an actual
rule or not.
Comments...
My notes from '99 include that the Stockade Trail was marked like any other
trail junction, and the other trail below Tooth Ridge Camp, which I wrote
might be referred to as "The Meadow Trail," was clearly marked as "Closed" /
"Do Not Use." My notes from '01 and '03 are silent on its status then.
In addition to staff, in the past the Stockade Trail was used by NJLIC
participants, who climbed the Tooth starting from Rocky Mountain Scout Camp,
and came down to Base Camp by the new switchback trail.
Regarding the new (at least it was in '99) Tooth Ridge trail, the first time
I did it, it seemed endless. But now that I think it is endless, it did not
seem so long the second and third times I did it...
