I'm not sure what is meant by "west side" of Tooth Ridge. The ridge runs
east and west with Shaefers Peak/Pass at the west end and base camp at the
east end. I think of the sides as being north and south. Or do you mean
west "end" of the ridge or west of the Tooth itself?

The 2005 SE Map shows a trail heading directly south off the ridge, leaving
the ridge trail a couple hundred meters east of the spur up the Tooth.
After dropping about 1000 ft in a km, it heads slightly east to the
stockade. Another trail is shown dropping off the S side of the ridge from
a point about 500 m east of TR camp. It starts heading east, then turns SSE
in the general direction of Casa del Gavilan. It appears to be even
steeper, but the steep section is not as long.

>From the discussion, I assume the first trail is the Stockade Trail and the
second is the Pasture trail. Or are we talking about other trails that
aren't marked on the map(s)?
