Let me clarify my original post. Years denote actual year of participation.
Take 2 years off of year listed for year of request.
Troop 445:
2002 - Trek
2003 - no request since trekked in 2002
2004 - wait list
2005 - Trek
2006 - no request since trekked in 2005
2007 - wait list
2008 - wait list
Crew 445:
2004 - charter year
2005 - no request (could not request in 03 since not in existence)
2006 - wait list
2007 - wait list
2008 - Trek
I must apologize for the confusion I might have caused in my original post.
By the sound of Philmont's verbage, Troop 445 will wait list again in 2009
and be high in the running for a trek in 2010. Crew 445 will sit out 2009,
wait list 10, 11, 12, and be high on the list for 13.
Side bar -My question is this: What is the your one piece of "comfort gear"
that you carry despite the weight or bulkiness of the item. Mine is the
Crazy Creek CradleLounger. It's a direct (half-price) knock off of the
original Sling Lite chair, and is worth every bit of its 23 ounces. I've
napped away some great afternoons in this thing.

Subject: [philmont] Philmont 2008 - Priority in Lottery
I don't think you read his post correctly. The Troop got a trek in 05, so
they were only waitlisted consecutively two years, 06 and 07, same as their
Crew.
The policy from Philmont does not include years before 04, so those don't
matter. However, under the old phone in system, I don't recall ever seeing
checks and balances on the application process as to consecutive year treks,
that seemed to get caught when you actually got a trek. It was sort of an
honor system thing then, the internet process catches it now.
The data seems to support hte fact that you have to be waitlisted all four
years, 04-07 to get priority as we have units reporting in with no waitlist
at all getting a trek and once or twice waitlisted not getting a trek. So
far, we only have one troop that claims to have failed with the four year
criteria, but that poster (haven't succeeded since 1999) did not say they
were actually on the waitlist all four years, so I don't know if that is a
data point or not. If they were waitlisted, offered a trek when their
number came up, but could not go on the short notice, I think that would
have taken them out of the priority potential. We just don't have the facts
on that one.

By the criteria, you were wait listed all 4 years 04 to 07, so you should
have been at the top of list. Not sure how you were waitlisted in 03, since
you trekked in 02.
