First, I hope you have obtained from Coop his advisors guide. Worth it's
weight in gold.
Coop will email it to you upon request and ask on the honor system to send
him $ that
goes toward his crew.

I am not an advocate of bringing a special set of sleep clothes. Your pack
is plenty
heavy without taking any extras! I follow the three set method, one to
wear, one to
wash, one to sleep in. However, it is hard to dry things in one day at
PHilmont, I
found it typically took a day and a half, so I think next time I go (knock
on wood)
I'll bring four, one to wash and dry, another to wash.

Living in bear country, IMHO, Philmont goes way overboard on the smellables
thing, but then they have to answer to the over-cautious national
organization :-).
The human body is a smellable, and by itself is problematic anyway.

Anyway, the concept to work on is smellable/not smellable. Rather than
minimum
in tent. All the things you mentioned are fine. Can't imagine wanting to
carry a
stocking cap on a trek, though. Did I mention your pack is plenty heavy
without
taking any extras? Except for a few exceptional nights or really high
camps, you
don't get nearly cold enough to want it. I don't understand the
recommendation
for gloves for the same reason, either.
