[philmont] What goes inside your tent?

The main thing that I put in my tent is a #20 or #30 Sea Line waterproof bag
into which I stuff my sleeping bag, ground pad, sleeping clothes & stocking
cap. The only other thing would be a small flashlight. Anything else is
placed just outside the tent in my boots such as water bottle or other small
items. This way once the tent is up I toss my Sea line in there and nothing
else needs to go in.

Subject: [philmont] What goes inside your tent?

We have a crew headed to Philmont in 2007! All of us are first timers. I
had a discussion with the crew the other day about bringing a set of clothes
you only use for sleeping. Furthermore, I explained the idea is to keep
very little in your tent besides the sleeping clothes, sleeping bag and
sleeping pad. If it was used on the trail or while cooking/eating it should
not be in the tent.

Then we had some questions about exceptions. The specific questions
included camp shoes, flashlight, water bottle (not used for flavored
drinks), and a stocking cap used outside of the tent. Can anyone provide
the hard and fast rules as well as some common sense guidance.

YIS
Jim Sergison
