Try tennis balls instead of tennis shoes. Lot less noise and works just as
well.
Wash the bag first. Nikki Wax and some other companies have specific
sleeping bag detergents based on the insulation. The fluff in the dryer is
the most important part of the process to get the bag back to almost new.

Put your clothes dryer on air-dry. Put the sleeping bag and a clean sneaker
(or two) in the dryer. Set the timer for 20 minutes or so. Go out on the
back porch with a nice cup of hot chocolate, or a cool adult beverage
(depending on the local temperature) so you don't have to listen to the
noise.
