These have been to Philmont 3 times now, going again next summer. No problems.

Since the list doesn't support pictures, you'll need to go to google, select images, and select gutter spike ... it looks like a really big nail.

MSR also makes a very good lightweight stake which holds up well - it is red, with an I-beam type design and a handy loop. We pounded the tar out of them last summer 614-N5 and they were great.

Can someone who knows exactly what one of these looks like post a link to a picture of one please. I went to Home Depot and all they have are some big light weight nail looking things. This may be what everyone refers to when they speak of Gutter nails but I want to be sure before buying and trying them. Help please with a link. Thanks

Avoid the Zeus Exo or any other single walled tent, from my experience. Go with anything that is light weight and comes with a rain fly. Use the Gutter spikes as recommended before instead of the tent stakes that come with the tent.

Any recommendations on lightweight backpacking tents? I have used Philtents in the past but would like to consider purchasing a tent that is around 4lbs or less. I am considering the MSR Hubba Hubba or Fling.
