“Tis the night before Christmas
and all through the casa,
Not a raton is stirring,
Caramba; Que Pasa?
The stockings are hung
Con mucho quidado
In hopes that St. Nicholas
Will feel obligado
To leave a few cosas
Aqui and alli’
For Chico and Chica
(and maybe for me.)
Los ninos all snuggling
All safe in their casmas
Some in vestidos
And some in pajamas’
Their little cabesas
Are full of good things
The’re all esperando’
Que Santa will bring.
Santa is down
On the Santa Fe Plaza
With his cuates
Hoisting the taza.
Mama is sitting
Beside la ventana
Stuffing el turkey
Para manana
When Santa arrived
In his Santa Claus suit
He lost no tiempo
In splitting the loot.
A dolly for nina,
And a perro piqueno
To fill Hermanitio’s
Ferventisimo sueno
For Tis a necktie
De color flamante,
For mama perfuma
De flores fragantes
For primo Jose
Una guitarra to play,
For Papa, muchos
Billetas to pay.
As Santa was leaving
His good deeds all done,
He turned at the door
His face full of fun,
And he said with a shout
(It made us all glad):
“A todos you all
Feliz Navidad!”
