Philmont takes credit cards, but you have to go to the main Administration building on Deer Run Road. That is where we have to send people who want to buy tents, or packs or pay for damage with a credit card.

We did call ahead and tell them we had 11. Philmont will repeatedly tell you to make the payments for everyone who is going, but so far I've not heard of anyone being denied being added to a less than full crew.
It should be noted that, as of 2005, CHQ could not take a credit card - needing a check or cash only. It seemed odd to me since Tooth of Time Traders can take credit cards.
