[philmont] Recommendations on Boots?

You will get all kinds of recommendations, so here is mine.
 
I bought Gore Tex and they were great here in Michigan. All of my pre-hike tests and trials went perfectly.
 
I got to Philmont and my feet had a meltdown. My feet sweat in them like never before. Along with all the rain we had my feet did not dry out until the last 4 days. I will stick to leather for the next trip.
