So I'll disagree, I use gaiters and leave the rainpants at home ...

growth of grasses & bushes along them where the usefullness of gaiters would
be maximized, and if our crew of 12 had to stop any more than twice to get a
rock out of a boot, I don't remember it. I'd leave the gaiters at home.

Philmont in 1964 I would say that PSR is one place where I don't need

else to buy and take on the trail. Invest the $ into hiking sticks.
