[philmont] Boots

For exactly the reason Pete mentions, I will wear gaiters on some trails. I
had to stop twice and remove gravel from my boot twice on the "long and
winding road" coming back to base camp on Tooth Ridge. I also had gravel in
my boot on the trail from Fish Camp to Abreu.

The next time I took gaiters and wore them if the trail seemed to indicate
they were needed; it was definitely a judgment thing, but I didn't get stuff
in my boots.

Happy Trails,

Roy Fisher
