[Philmont] Recommendations on Boots?

Our ranger wouldn't let the Croc users wear them without socks.
I brought a lightweight running shoe, which worked well for the 3 mile
commisary run from Webster park to Ute Gulch.
Three of us made a mad dash for it down grouse canyon as it was late in the
day, and we were worried about missing the pickup.
