  It certainly is nice to have another solid thinker on this list in the form of Mr. Pogue. I knew there was something about him I liked besides his well earned love of external frame packs.

  It's the Svea 123 stove. HIs is a little newer than mine having bought mine from REI in 1969 for a total price of $9.95. Like his, it still works and works well and have never been repaired or tinkered with. Like leather moccasins and external frame packs, why fix something that ain't broke.

  Tell you what I'll do.

  If somebody will donate two packframes to my collection in the form of a U S Army moulded plywood packboard and a Trapper Nelson wood and canvas packframe, I'll go buy an internal frame pack just to keep the list newbies from crying croc-a-dile tears all night long.

  Until then, all the pushing, prodding and cajoling you can muster won't pursuade me to change because besides if it ain't broke don't fix it ther eis anotehr saying which goes something like this------------old age and trechery will overcome youth and skill everytime.

  Calvin musta run out of boudain because he's spreading those Cajun jokes again.
