[Philmont] blister treatment

Just a quick note to tell y'all about a product I've recently had a chance to use, Dr. Scholl's blister treatment. I purchased it a while back (perhaps a few years back) but never took it on a test spin on account of never getting a blister. In the past, I've always been a fan of Dr. Scholl's Molefoam, which provides great padding, but no medication.

These patches are specifically designed for large heel blisters. They adhere very well, and are designed to remain in place more than 48 hours, even if they get wet. The medication toughens the skin where a blister has not yet formed or the skin under a blister. You don't have to cut them to shape and they're quite slim and compact as they don't provide padding as does molefoam. That didn't seem to be a drawback.

I got my blister on a day hike at Valley Forge where I foolishly did not bring any blister treatment, with new boots I was breaking in. Got the new boots in a swap at LL Bean when a some of the stiching on my year and a half old LL Bean boots was coming loose. They swapped them for new, no questions asked. Another plug for companies that have great return policies. Even boots that had been to the Ranch and back.

I've also had good experiences with Spenco 2nd Skin, but that has to be cut and involves a patch of gooey blue stuff that is secured in place under a cloth patch that also must be cut. The blue stuff is kept in a resealable pouch. Great product, though.

That's all I have.
