[Philmont] List bullies .... getting ready for the 2008 "new people"

That is not a bad answer. Actually the one I am hoping for. I am not
talking only about John, he is not alone in the hardball camp.

Watching some of the really really old people like Calvin and John go at
it can be educational for the new people without them feeling like they
are attacked. Wanna see endless debates with no end, join us at Autumn
Adventure next year<grin>.

What I am saying is that the exact same answer between older list
members in a discussion does not just FEEL like a personal attack.
They are experienced in the outdoors and with the list. When that exact
same answer is directed at a new member it IS a personal attack.
Nothing good can come of this.

So I guess I am hoping we can maybe think a bit before unloading on the
new guys. Probably won't matter to many who are not concerned about
people's feelings (I am in that camp more than I want to be) but it is
worth the discussion.

And if you can't find it in your heart to be a bit Courteous and Kind
this time of the year what kind of friend are you going to be on the
trail anyway?

Oh yeah, what is the address of the canoe list? I hate water sports but
it looks like the guys in the troop are pushing for more of that stuff
in the next couple of years and I need to get up to speed.

After all, I am their leader. Did you see which way they went?
