>From the land of 600 feet above Sea Level,Garland Texas,
one of the thing available for hour long workouts are
football stadiums and parking garages. Put the pack on
and walk the bleachers or up and down the ramps at a
multiple storied parking garage will help a little and
give both youth and adults an understanding of what's
to come. I know this doesn't answer your original
question, but this might help to get in shape.

Here in Southern New Jersey, the land of zero altitude (we're about as sea
level as one can get) it's tough to get conditioned. I'm looking for some
good rugged terrain that won't take us forever to get to. Can anyone in
Northeastern PA, CT or NY recommend some good shakedown hikes and locations
that you've taken? Thanks.
