[Philmont]: Rain Gear: Revisited, Repeated, or All Over Again

I apologize in advance for re-opening this thread. Many of you discussed this ad
nausium about 3 months ago. I was only just interested then and didn't pay that
close of attention. Now, I'm like the turkey at Thanksgiving: I've passed the just
interested stage and am at the real concerned level as I look to spend my hard-earned
cash.

QUESTION: What was the list's final determination on the battle between Precip vs.
Red Ledge vs. Frogg Toggs?

I've studied Precip at great length and tried it on. It's a wonderful product & will
probably hold up longer than the others, but weighs a little more and is considerably
more expensive. I bought a pair of Precip pants on sale but have not jumped on the
jacket. The pants are nice, but are not cut very loose and fit is a concern. I
usually buy the best available. Here, I'm not so sure price makes it the best.

I'd go for Red Ledge based on the great review in Backpacking Light, but I'm not
really sold on its breathability rating. It is apparently cut tighter to the torso
than Frogg Toggs; but I've never tried either on. A couple of the ultra light
authors swear by Frogg Toggs and they're supposed to be more breathable and
supposedly cut a little bigger in the torso. Both are reportedly lighter and more
compressible than Precip.

Can any of you who (tried on)(used)(know more than I do about) these 3 shed some
light. I promise: this time I'll listen.
