Ship your stoves and fuel bottles if you plan on going by air. Last year, an advisor from our contigent packed his stoves in the crew's backpacks. During inprocessing at the airport, he was asked whether or not he had stoves. When he replied yes, they w
 ere removed. As a result, he had to buy new stoves at Philmont when he arrived.
 
Just send your stoves to Philmont via parcel post and put hold for you crew number on the box. Make sure burn any residue fuel left in the stoves and air dry your fuel bottles. Save the box for the return home. There is white gas fuel at Philmont Base C
 amp as well at all commissaries. Philmont is also carrying the Peak I Powermax cartridges. If you use white gas, be sure to bring a filter and give it to Philmont to use when they fill your fuel bottles. They get gas in bulk and sometimes it can be con
