Sometimes just doing some work for the staff at camps can get you a great
reward, i.e. real food. In 2001, we helped move the old water tank at
Cyphers Mine onto the back of a truck, and helped carry some of the staff
food from the truck to the cabin using a firemen line. Our reward? A big bag
of Ruffles, some cookies and crackers, fruit punch drink mixes, and 15
slices of bacon! Probably the best 15 minutes spent earning something good.
Another good "bartering" item is useless knowledge. Just for knowing a bunch
of useless Simpsons triva, we earned a second bag of Ruffles! Just two
"lightweight bartering" options!
