When I was there two times, adults were allowed one man tents, but they were
Eureka Apex somethings, kind of like a two man dome tent just condensed. My
rangers from both years allowed them for the adults. I was able to get my
own tw man tent by myself due to the tent paring. But all the tents were
recognizable as tents, not logs like bivy sacks. bivy sack are the size of
your sleeping bag and usually have no poles (there have been a few, just for
a small amount of head room). But if it looks like a normal tent and
performs like a normal tent, then Philmony will most likely allow it.

BTW, your cross-posting this message, as I was the one who posted the tent
stuff on the philmont.com message board!
