My guess is that this list will just scratch the surface.

Pros
Sharing of infrequently needed equipment
Enjoying the company of scouts you know
Availability of a replacement adult in a crew if needed
Group photos
Competition between crews

Cons
Having to get two crews to agree on trek selection
Same old people in your sister crew
Competition between crews

The two crews from our troop were sister crews by accident in 2000, but
requested to be sister crews in 2002. In general I think the good
outweighed the bad.
