Droughts aren't cured in 2 or 3 days or with 20 inches of back pain or even
20 inches of rain. They are weather patterns and they have to change before
any relief is in sight.

It's not just in NM, but all through the West including the midwest states of
Kansas and Nebraska. Not a day goes by that the news of a farmer going
bankrupt isn't included.

My friends who have land here are taking on cattle from drier regions as fast
as they can. Ranchers ship them down here to be baby sat through the dry
times hoping it will start raining soon and they can get them back on the
range without selling them cheaply at auction. That is just a temporary fix
though.

We annually get 55" of rain per year, but in 2002 we got 63", so it's pretty
green here. And we almost NEVER an inch of back pain, much less 20 inches.

And the Neches River is flooding near Beaumont as a result of rrecet ains.

John
