here are two more pro's...
Sharing an extra adult advisor as "backup" to maintain 2 deep leadership.
We had two crews with 5 adult advisors, if one of the adults had to leave,
both crews could have continued.
Last year we encountered a site that was overbooked (Miners Park), we ended
up sharing a site with our sister crew as the other sites only had room for
one tent each, which would have scattered our crew over 5 other sites..
as with many philmont treks, there are often two or more trails to get you
to your destination. There were 4 days on the trail that our sister crew
took a different path than we did at some point in the day to reach the same
destination.

My guess is that this list will just scratch the surface.
Pros
Sharing of infrequently needed equipment
Enjoying the company of scouts you know
Availability of a replacement adult in a crew if needed
Group photos
Competition between crews
Cons
Having to get two crews to agree on trek selection
Same old people in your sister crew
Competition between crews
The two crews from our troop were sister crews by accident in 2000, but
requested to be sister crews in 2002. In general I think the good
outweighed the bad.
