Re: [Philmont]: camp shoes

Although I stand to be corrected, (as always) I know of no RULE that prohibits sandals at Philmont. I believe closed-toe shoes are RECOMMENDED, even though I have yet to receive this year's books. This rumor has hit this list the last 3 years. In 2001 we made a decision to require "sneakers" instead. We used sandals for 4 treks before the last with no problems. This year we will allow sandals, EXCEPT in the cooking area. Closed-toed shoes will be required there.

Going back in 2003!!
