I don't know prices. I know that the Kit Carson Inn is your average run of
the mill motel. Nothing fancy but still average. The Cimarron Inn is a bit
different. The rooms have different themes. Gives it character, I liked it
more. Both are good clean facilities. Never stayed at the St. James as I
assumed it cost more.
You can walk to any place in Cimarron, the town is that small. Basecamp is
about 4 miles from Cimarron. You will have to talk wit Philmont to arrange
transportation there from Cimarron.

Subject: [Philmont]: accommodations in Cimarron
Would those of you who know Cimarron accommodations please comment on
your experiences? In your opinions, what is the best place to stay,
considering location, price, hospitality, ease of transport to Philmont,
etc? Are there possibilities other than those listed in the Planning
Guide? I represent a troop contingent of two crews. We want to be able
to use the Philmont bus for transportation from Cimarron to Philmont
check-in on our first day. Thanks.
