This makes one wonder where our nation would be without the Scouting
program. Many of our nation's heroes consistently come from the ranks of
scouting. Another example is, that of the 57 boys who made Eagle when I was
a scoutmaster, at least seven, including three of my Eagle Scout sons, are
now deployed or have recently been deployed in operation enduring freedom.
They include, a combat engineer Lt., a combat medic, an MP, two infantrymen,
a black hawk helicopter pilot, a U.S. marine, and a navy petty officer. God
bless our astronauts, our country, and the Boy Scouts.
