To echo other posts..

We did Baldy during the last week of June 2001. We began our assault at about
7:00 am. It was sunny and pleasant at the beginning and stayed that way to the
top. We ran into a sheltered saddle almost at the top which contained a good
amount of snow, much to the delight of the scouts. At the top is was very clear
and a little cool with a light wind. Just Perfect !! I could have stayed there
for days. However, as we started down, we could hear the thunder. Reports from
others later that day told us we dodged a heavy thunderstorm with lots of hail.
You just never know.
