Of the sectional maps, I know that there is a brand new one for the north
country as of last summer (2002). I was lucky enough to help make the map.
Philmont was still working on the data for Central and South as far as I
know.

One thing you may find not on the old maps will be Olypia camp as well as
some trail revisions. Something else that will need to be done eventually is
updating the vegetation. Even before the fire, the vegetation markings were
old and after the fire, it will be different for sure.

The maps you have will do fine for teaching how read a map and a compass.
Your Ranger will go over how to use them again when you get to Philmont.
Your trip planning session in base camp will also go over your route. Don't
forget about declination :)

Subject: [Philmont]: Phil Maps

I'm preparing a comp and mapass session for our Philmont
Advisor training. The Phil maps that I have are dated:

North: rev 91
Central: rev 91
South: rev 95
Overview map (1:48K): rev 91

Does anyone know if there are more recently revised versions
available? If so, what are their revision dates?
Thanks,
