Hi Jerry,

It's Raton and pronounced "Rat tone" as with the rodent and the sound.
By the way, the residents pronounce Cimarron as "Cimarroan".

I seem to remember that PTC registration takes place on Sunday afternoon
so, unless things have changed, you will need to be at the PTC on Sunday
afternoon. There may be opportunities to arrive on Monday morning too
but you will really be rushed if you do that.

Philmont does offer transportation from Raton to Philmont and back again
(for a fee). My suggestion is that you contact the PTC and inquire
about this and see exactly when you need to be arrive.
