I've had good success it getting the Scouts to provide
a T-shirt design. I make it known up front that it
should express the time, place, and kind of activity
and that it must be appropriate to Scouting.
I've received everything from computer graphics and
excellant hand-drawn designs to stick-man ideas.
Before taking the design to the T-shirt company, I ask
the Scout if he minds if I make a few changes and
explain what they will be.
When they are as basic as stick-men, I use the basic
ideas presented and work with the T-shirt company to
enhance it. By keeping the basic ideas the Scout that
did the work gets credit for the design and is proud
to see others wearing his 'shirt'. In most of the
cases, I've only added dates or places to the design.
