The train is scheduled to arrive in Raton around 11AM if you are coming from
the East) and around 6PM if you are coming from the west. 95% of the time,
the train is late. For crews that took the train, they would usually arrive
at Basecamp around 2PM. It seems more crews took the train from the East
than those from the West. It is about 45 min from Raton to Cimarron. It was
a daily occurance to see Rangers milling around the Ranger office waiting
for their train crew to come in. Nothing negative about taking the train,
just FYI.
