It would have been day 7 of 627, which made it July 3, and it was later in
the afternoon. I suspect hail is quite a regular occurrence on the peaks.
I enjoyed being out in the hail, but it got pretty intense, so I retreated
to my tent and wrote a few Club-post-cards. After it stopped I bundled up
and took a slow walk around camp. It was quiet, clear and cold. Saw a
couple deer in the distance. Eventually made my way to a clearing with
great views, particularly to the east (Cyphers, et al). The sun was getting
bright in the west, but it was still dark and stormy to the east. A few
rainbows came out... a pretty incredible sight.
