We have a number of designs on the table. Some of the youth have seen the
designed I created based on input from other leaders. They liked what they
saw. One of the scouts has proposed we add to one sleeve the initials of
our former SM who died last April. Others have rallied around that suggestion.
Trust me, it was not the lack of artistic talent. Some of the ideas were
*far* over the edge of good taste. We have a sentence in our uniform
policy that says: "All choices in dress should be made keeping in mind
that we are to follow the scout oath and law in all that we do." Some of
the proposals were in violation of that policy.
I would have allowed the shirt that said: "They let us out of scholl 2 go 2
Filmont", but only two scouts liked that one. I also gave my approval for
the one based on a cat hole and trowel, but the troop committee has
misgivings about it, and the graphics have not been worked out in
detail. (It still has not been rejected, and nothing has been been
approved by either the scouts or the committee.)
So my version of one adult's suggestion is still on the table with some
other designs at this time. The initials FB will be on one sleeve.
