I always recommened my crews use the 8qt pot if there were more than 10
people in the crew. Using the smaller pot would risk food spilage and bear
visits. I also recomended they use the P2 pots as it didn't cost you
anymore and it would save wear and tear on the troop equipment.
For the Philpots, the 6Qt pot is fairly large around but not as deep. The 8
quart pot is not as large around but is deeper. A sleeping bag stuff sack
can easily be placed in the 8qt pot. Whether this be on an internal or
external frame pack. For this reason alone, I suggested the 8qt pot over the
6qt most of the time. Also the lid for the 8qt pot is more useful than the
lid for the 6 qt.
