Claim was that night vision is better than shadowy flashlight light. I
think they were right. After they got everyone to turn off the lights
and we had time to accomodate, we could see pretty well. Lots of verbal
communication between individual letting those behind them know about
waterbars and hard to see obstacles on the trail.

And thanks for the fire. In 2000 we were about to leave Clear Creek to
climb Phillips when the crew that had the bear encounter descended into
camp. We got rerouted. In 2002 we had the fire evacuation. Gave us a
little excitement for each trip. Tis the stuff the macho man stories
are made of over the years. :-))
