We had a crew with large disparities of physical
dimensions. The advisors adjusted the weight of the
smaller boys at the beginning, but soon left them
alone to break up the weight as they saw fit.
Of note is that the weights I have been seeing for
other crews seem awful high. We had one adult start
at 45 pounds, with 3 days' food & water. Everyone
else was 41,42 pounds 'n our smallest crew member (115
lbs) was a hair under 38. We did not try very hard to
get to these weights, with the exception of
lightweight tents (4-5 pounds) and a judicious
shakedown at home.
