Can't help you out on the duffel bag size. I doubt you will need anything
extra for Base Camp.
There's too much to do at Base to just sit around. All you need are your
clothes, shower and bathroom equipment, and $$$. Your days in base once you
meet your Ranger will be pretty busy doing the checkin process. If you find
yourself having extra time you can go to the Seton Library/Museum, tour the
Villa Philmonte, or take a free bus to town to see the sights or down to the
Rayado Museum. You will find Trailbound tent city to be a hot, dry, dusty,
and unpleasant place to be. You'll go there for sleeping and packing your
pack. Thats about it. There is a basketball court and sand volley ball
court in front of the Health Lodge as well.
