It was alluded to in the response by Charlie Pineo, but as a precaution,
I would suggest that your crew members *wear their boots* on the plane.
I understand that it might be a hassle at security so you should plan
accordingly. But - everything else can be purchased or rented in C.
Springs, somewhere in route to Philmont or at Philmont EXCEPT properly
broken in hiking boots [emphasis not shouting]. If the crew members
wear them, they can be pretty sure that the boots will be wherever they
are.
