tents are in the 7.6 lb. range, tarp weighs 4 lbs, dining fly poles 1 lb.,
trail chef kit 6 lbs, bear bags 1.5 lbs, rope for bear bags 2.5 lbs. We used
hiking poles for dining fly and took two 8 qt. pots from Walmart that weighed
half of Philmont pots. These weights are from the 2003 Guidebook to Adventure
issued to each participant. Food will vary depending upon the # of days you pick
up each time. Would plan on 4 days food which will be in the 8 lb. range for
each person. We were able to plan and reduce weight before arriving which
resulted in packs weighing from 26 to 35 lbs as we left base camp.
