If you have weight or quality concerns, I'd bring your own stuff. That way
too your crew will be very familiar with set up, cleaning, and take down.
If no one in this group has the weight infoyou want, I bet you can get the
info you want by calling Philmont directly. Ask for who ever is in charge
of equipment.
We had a scout last year who was vegitarian, and I called to get info about
the food. THAT staff member knew EVERY thing about EVERY item that may or
may not have animal food additives..................for example, the Nutter
BUTTER cookies, sometimes they have shortening made from animal products and
sometimes they are made with vegitable shortening.
It is just amazing how much info they have...........bottom line, don't be
afraid to call.
I'd called them with some pretty silly questions the first time I went in
1999, and they ALWAYS gave me an answer and never made me sorry that I
called.
