We had the same problem on the Tooth. I have had no trouble when it comes to them taking the pants along with them since.

We were stuck on the side of Phillips in a driving rain/sleet/hail/lightning storm. Watched my Scouts stand there in shorts and regular clothes, shivering. Wondered about what to do in 20, 40, 60 minutes if the storm did not stop. They usually do, you know. Have REQUIRED rain pants since then. May not ever wear them, but... You have to decide for your crew. I already have.
